Repair terms.

Plain English, and nothing in here takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Last updated 10 September 2026.

Who we are. Casson IT Solutions (ABN 71 413 246 354), trading as Mac & PC Repair Centre, Amira Residence, 5 Waterloo Street, East Brisbane QLD 4169. Phone 0421 741 424. These terms apply to every repair, diagnosis and data job we do for you.

1. Diagnosis and quotes

We look at the device first and tell you what it needs and what it will cost before any repair work starts. Diagnosis is free when you go ahead with the repair. If you decide not to go ahead, a quote-rejection fee of $90 to $100 applies. A quote is an estimate based on what we can see; if we find more once the device is open, we stop and call you before doing anything that changes the price.

2. Deposits and parts

Parts are ordered only after you approve the quote and pay a deposit of 50 % of the quoted price. Deposits for parts that have been ordered are not refundable. We choose parts to suit the job and your budget, and we tell you what we are fitting before we fit it.

3. Repair notice

Required by the Australian Consumer Law, in writing, before the device is accepted Repairing your device may result in the loss of any data stored on it. Please make sure you have a copy of anything you need before you hand it over. Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the goods.

4. Your data and your password

We only use your password to test the device and the repair. We do not browse, copy or keep your files. Back up before drop-off if you can. If the fault is in the storage or the device needs a factory reset, we tell you first. Data recovery is a separate job with its own quote and no guarantee of success.

5. Turnaround

Most repairs are completed the same day. Times we give you are estimates; parts on order and the fault itself can change them. We will keep you posted.

6. Existing damage, liquid damage and older hardware

We note visible damage when the device comes in. Liquid-damaged and previously repaired devices can fail again after a successful repair, and cracked screens or broken hinges can spread during handling even when we are careful. We tell you about these risks before we start, and we are not responsible for faults that were already there or that follow from earlier damage.

7. Condition report and signature

When you drop the device off we note and photograph its condition and any existing damage on the check-in slip, and you sign it. That signed slip is the record of what came in. Anything found later that is unrelated to the job you approved is a separate job with its own quote.

8. No extra warranty

We don't offer a warranty of our own on repairs. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply to every job we do (see 12), and if a repair we did fails, call us first and we will look at it.

9. Payment

Payment is due when you collect the device. We take cash and EFTPOS, with no card surcharge.

10. Collection

We work by appointment, seven days from 7 am to 6 pm, so we will call you when the device is ready and agree a pick-up time. Please collect it within 30 days of booking in. After 30 days we may charge storage and will start the uncollected-goods process under the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act 1967 (Qld), which lets us sell the device to cover our costs after written notice to you, with any balance paid to you.

11. Your details

We use the details on the check-in form only to do the repair and contact you about it. We don't sell or share them.

12. Problems

If something isn't right, call 0421 741 424 first. We would rather fix it than argue about it. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
